One of the things that constantly amazes me is how much cross-pollination there is in D.C., which is why it's obviously such a fertile field for someone like special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.
Here's one example: in an article yesterday about the focus on Cheney's office, there was a list of people who have been interviewed by Fitzgerald. On that list is the name of Catherine Martin, who some will recognize as the wife of FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, who was appointed recently to replace Michael Powell (himself the son of former Secretary of State Colin Powell).
There is apparently no suggestion that Mrs. Martin was a participant in the conspiracy to disclose Valerie Plame's name, but it does offer an interesting illustration of how a single careless match can start a serious Capital Hill brushfire.
